WHY BOOK WITH US?

We are within walking distance of everything downtown: Quidi Vidi, Signal Hill, George Street, and the infamous St. John's Harbor. We are 15 minutes to the St.John's airport. There are plenty of cabs to get you to and from there. Several Tours pick up from our location.

Beautiful, spacious rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Two main floor rooms share one bathroom, substantially reduced for the inconvenience. NEW 2024 - each room has air conditioning.

Complimentary hot breakfast is served at the Roses from April 15 to October 14, and outside of this period, we always offer tea and coffee.

Continental breakfast is served in  Jellybean Heritage from May 1 to September 30. Outside this period, we provide fresh ground coffee and tea.
Coffee Matters is between the Roses and the Jellybean, a few doors away, and is open year-round.

It is a set menu of the cook's choice with a variety of preparation of local eggs or pancakes and meat, fruit, and cereals. We always have complimentary tea and coffee. Gluten-free waffles, toast, and cereal are available at both locations.

We proudly offer catered evening meals and breakfast for your group bookings in the off seasons, such as Bridal parties, weddings, or any group event. Chef Meagan specializes in Newfoundland Cuisine. We love music at the Roses and can arrange a kitchen party with a cod kissing and screech in.  We can offer exclusivity on either or all three houses with 6 to 17 rooms.

Cancellations: 24-hour cancellation from September 30 to May 15th or you can move booking for credit. Fourteen days in the high season. Multiple suite bookings will get written confirmation details, which may vary from these. No deposit is required except on multiple-room bookings.

Parking is across the street at St. Thomas church or allowed on Military Road.  In the spring/summer/fall, there is plenty of free parking close by, and church passes are only $10 day and night or $5 per day.

The longer you stay, the less you pay! Sales from now to spring: 5%, 10%, or even 50% off for more extended stays. Just put in your dates, and the discounts will apply. This applies to all rooms.

The Roses
Heritage Inn is located in the heart of St. John's historic district in North America's most easterly point and Canada's oldest City. We are within walking distance of all major attractions, including iconic Signal Hill and the East Coast Trail. We are the longest-running and largest bed and breakfast in St.John's.

The incredible history of THE ROSES is evident from the moment you enter. Built in 1905 by Dr. Murphy and his father, Jack Murphy, to entertain out-of-country business associates, each of the upper rooms has an elegance and timelessness you'd expect from a well-crafted St.John's guest home. Dr. Murphy treated tuberculosis patients until his passing in 1925.

Enjoy the lovely city and harbour views from the newly improved and expanded third-floor dining room and two third-floor decks. Watch the ships roll in the harbour and the moon rises over the mighty Atlantic. The beautiful St. John's colours and architecture, not to exclude the glorious sunrises out of the ocean.

The well-appointed rooms are lovingly adorned with local art, period furniture, and decor. The Roses will transport you to a time of Victorian grandeur, old-fashioned manners, and personal customer service while having the modern conveniences you would expect in a 4-star Inn.

The Jellybean Heritage Inn. This is newly
renovated in the vibrant Jelly Bean Row district. All suites have air conditioning (new 2024) and full ensuite bathrooms, all-season, full-down duvets and pillows, and breathable cotton sheets. Enjoy the beautiful ancient garden at The Jellybean Inn. Captain William Whitely III built this beautiful Inn to celebrate his success in inventing the COD TRAP in 1894, and it oozes with history and charm. It is located directly behind the Roses on 18 Gower Street. Steps to restaurants and pubs and a short walk to the infamous St.John's Harbour and Signal Hill a National Historic site.

In both locations, our windows open to allow the lovely sea breeze in at night, in addition, all main rooms, dining rooms, and halls are air-conditioned. Sink into our signature cotton sheets, duvets that are 100% hypoallergenic Canadian goose down, and breathable duvet covers and pillows. We apologize if you miss your event, as you won't want to leave your bed!

All rooms include free, private, high-speed internet, multiple station TVs,  and movie channels. We have smart TVs in The Jelly Bean Inn. Cable TV at the Roses.

The Roses was recently awarded as one of the top 5 places in St. John's for wedding photography.

We have six rooms with two beds between The Roses and the Jellybean Inn. Rarely do we have to change your space to an equal or superior room. We will always check to ensure the amenities suit your needs and send a new explicit confirmation.
The Roses is a fully licensed bed and breakfast, and we are proud of our safety standards, including a complete fire and alarm sprinkler system.

The lowest rate match guarantee and better cancellation/change flexibility if booked directly through this website.
