DEPOSIT: No deposit required until covid restrictions lift unless its discounted rate or long term rate then its 50% deposit on booking.
CHECK-IN: Any time after 2:00 PM Check out is 11:00 AM. We facilitate early check-ins as possible and prior check-in baggage drops. If you booked online you will need to know which property 9 or 11 Military Road or the Jelly Bean Inn on 18 Gower Street that you will be staying in and what the security code is for that check-in day. We endeavor to contact our guests prior to check in with this information a few days before arrival. Please contact us if for some reason you have not received this in your email confirmation.
BREAKFAST: We serve a delicious, hot breakfast every day in the high season which is all summer from May to usually mid-October. (please check 2021 due to Covid restrictions) Outside this period breakfast is based on demand but we will clarify on booking what your options are. In the off-season, budget-priced rooms we do not offer breakfast. Please note there are several breakfast restaurants within walking distance of The Roses and the Jelly Bean Inn including Coffee Matters, 2 doors down, and the Bagel Cafe which is a short pleasant walk. We always have tea and coffee, fruit and you can heat toast in our dining room with the amazing views and store food/wine/beer in the fridges there.
PARKING: Military Road is free to park on but there are limitations just in front of the building. It is also free to park along the black picket fence across the street on the gravel road. There is also very convenient parking at the St. Thomas' Church well-lit parking lot directly across the street. they are in the process of automating. On Gower Street, there is free 2-hour parking during the day and overnight. Ordinance street is free for longer.
PETS: Please call and inquire. Some rooms and some well-behaved pets may be considered.
CANCELLATION POLICY: 15 days' notice from May 1 to October 15th. Outside this period it is 7 days. On multiple room bookings, a non-refundable deposit may be required. We encourage you to obtain trip interruption insurance privately if you have health concerns. Most major credit cards have trip interruption insurance. St. John's is remote and is subject to extreme weather that can restrict flights and ferries. The Roses cannot be responsible for missed reservations due to weather events or changed plans. We do provide an option to rebook providing credits for a future stay for weather events if some notice was provided in the offseason.
We really appreciate it if you remove your shoes and bring house shoes/slippers for everybody's enjoyment. The Roses Heritage Inn is pet-free and smoke-free. The Jelly Bean Inn may have a non-shedding, quiet dog on-site. With advance notice, we don't mind washing your linens with scent-free detergents. We care about your allergies.
