We are within walking distance of all major attractions, including iconic Signal Hill and the East Coast Trail. We are the longest-running and largest bed and breakfast in St.John's.
The incredible history of THE ROSES is evident from the moment you enter. Built in 1905 by Dr. Murphy and his father Jack Murphy to entertain out-of-country businessmen, each of the upper rooms has an elegance and timelessness you'd expect from a well-crafted St.John's guest home. Dr. Murphy treated tuberculosis patients until his passing in 1925.
Enjoy the outstanding views from the newly improved and expanded third-floor dining room and two third-floor decks. The city and ocean views will astound you. Watch the ships roll in the harbour, the moon rise over the mighty Atlantic, and the beautiful St. John's colours and architecture, not to exclude the glorious sunrises out of the ocean.
The well-appointed rooms are lovingly adorned with local art and period furniture and decor. The Roses will transport you to a time of Victorian grandeur, old fashion manners, and personal customer service while having the modern conveniences you would expect in a 4-star Inn.
