The Roses Heritage Inn is located in the heart of St. John's historic district in North America's most easterly point and Canada's oldest City. We are within walking distance of all major attractions, including iconic Signal Hill and the East Coast Trail. We are the longest-running and largest bed and breakfast in St.John's.
The incredible history of THE ROSES is evident from the moment you enter. Built in 1905 by Dr. Murphy and his father, Jack Murphy, to entertain out-of-country business associates, each of the upper rooms has an elegance and timelessness you'd expect from a well-crafted St.John's guest home. Dr. Murphy treated tuberculosis patients until his passing in 1925.
Enjoy the outstanding views from the newly improved and expanded third-floor dining room and two third-floor decks. The city and ocean views will astound you. Watch the ships roll in the harbour, and the moon rises over the mighty Atlantic. The beautiful St. John's colours and architecture, not to exclude the glorious sunrises out of the ocean.
The well-appointed rooms are lovingly adorned with local art, period furniture, and decor. The Roses will transport you to a time of Victorian grandeur, old fashion manners, and personal customer service while having the modern conveniences you would expect in a 4-star Inn.
We are proud to launch The Jellybean Heritage Inn. This is newly renovated in the vibrant Jelly Bean Row district. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms with various options from a King-size bed suite, one two-bed suite, and four new queen bed suites, all with ensuite bathrooms and delightful Edwardian, whimsical decor. Enjoy the beautiful ancient garden at The Jellybean Inn. This beautiful Inn was but by Captain William Whitely III to celebrate his success of inventing the COD TRAP in 1894 and oozes with history and charm. It is located directly behind the Roses on 18 Gower Street.
In both locations, our windows open to allow the lovely sea breeze in at night, but several of our rooms, dining rooms, and halls are air-conditioned. Sink into our signature cotton sheets, duvets that are 100% hypoallergenic Canadian goose down, and breathable duvet covers. We apologize if you miss your event, as you won't want to leave your bed!
All rooms include free high-speed internet, multiple station TVs, and movie channels. We have smart TVs in The Jelly Bean Inn. Cable TV at the Roses
